I spent last Thursday-Sunday in Austin for Quiltcon and some visiting with dear friends. After a very long day of travel cancellations and delays on Thursday, I made it to Austin in the evening. I was up bright and early the next morning to get myself to Quiltcon. It was delightful. Here are just a few pictures:
Friday evening I had dinner with my friend Ann and my new friend Tracy. BBQ in Austin is a thing of beauty. Saturday morning I volunteered to help at Quiltcon and had a lovely time chatting with this fellow volunteer http://catherineredford.com/blog/ between taking tickets and stamping hands.
Then I was off to meet up with some long time, long distance friends. We ate, took some pictures, window shopped and then ate some more.
Back to the hotel for some much needed sleep, and then up again to go eat some more.
I also got to give two of my friends some little prezzies I had made. I still owe some, but they are the kind of friends that don’t mind.
Next adventure: The Monte Vista Crane Festival with the family in two weeks time. Between now and then, I hope to get a couple of quilt tops quilted and bound and some smaller projects finished.
